Sometimes things don’t go according to plan but its the thrill that keep us going. Trust instict they say, but I’m getting uneasy now. Living means making space and time for adventures, but will I be surprised when things aren’t as they seem? Fantasy puts a lot of pressure on the unknown, but my mind a dreamer and a wander can’t stop while being seduced by the mystery of it all. The green light of hope leads me a stray once again.

Along the garden route where the trees go lush and the swell is sweet, lives a village of special humans who live for salt water and music. Souls in the form of songs echo through the boat house lodge bellowing out into the darkness into the brush then reaching the white sands of the shore, kissing the waves as they crash down to lull. This is where the vibes are high and the brandy cokes strong. So how do you get there?

Well I hopped into the back of a backie with a bunch of boards and barefoot lands into the Wilderness. I couldn’t help but coming back. It is a mystical land calling out to me offering temptations and serenity. I wonder if Wilderness is a place where dreams are built or lost? Is it the answer or the trap?

So there I was again packed up the car slid between snares and surf boards blaring a rock n’ roll playlist head banging, playing our glass water bottle like it was a bass guitar. We nearly tresspassed twice as we got lost in rolling hills of farm lands looking for Gonzo Shapes. A few sheep later and none slow enough catch for our film shoot, we were covered in dust shavings surrounded by yellow neon boards which laid on shelving accented by LED lights. We spoke about how to get curved bodies with a bendy wooden flexi sander and listed the pros on cons of surdboard ridges while picking out the perfect board design. Then we tasted the best distilled vodka I’ve ever had in my life, remember the name Gonzo it certainly made me Gonzo.

By the time we pulled into Wilderness driving 6 hours in and out of sunshowers there were rainbows and swell to greet us. We head on over to the Pig to continue to celebrate our arrival. Me and 11 boys threw back shots and beer but checked out early to prep for the 6 am surf. Magnitized to band parties now as a laggy, I found myself thick in the woods in wooden loft house, frogs humming in the distance to the tunes while 20 or so feet jump up and down like they would break through the roof, us rolling around on the dancefloor, until we roll up the rug or into the rug, all while rolling rollies and dancing until I roll ontop of someones lap.
